Setup

  1. Update the Pipe Home app to the latest version, make sure you’re signed in
  2. Open the Google Home app on your phone (install from App Store / Google Play)
  3. Go to Settings → Works with Google → Add service
  4. Find “Pipe Home” in the list (appears once Google certifies it)
  5. Sign in with your Pipe Home account, grant device access
  6. Google Home imports devices + scenes
  7. Optionally place devices in rooms in Google Home so you can use group commands like “turn off all living room lights”

FAQ

Google can’t understand the device name when I speak

  • Make sure device names have no special characters
  • Use a single language consistently (don’t mix English and another language)
  • Place devices in the right room in Google Home so commands stay short

A few seconds of delay after I speak the command

The path: Google Cloud → Pipe Home backend → Gateway → Device. Typical latency is 1-2 seconds. If slower, check your home network (the gateway must be online).

Lost connection with Google after a while

The Google OAuth token may have expired. In Google Home, unlink Pipe Home → re-link to recover.

Apple HomeKit / Amazon Alexa support?

  • Apple HomeKit: roadmap, no concrete timeline
  • Amazon Alexa: not planned (low usage in our market)

Privacy

When you link with Google:

  • Google receives: device names, types, states, command results
  • Google does not receive: detailed telemetry history, camera data, your email
  • Pipe Home does not read your Google account info — we only receive the OAuth token to route commands
